Keith McDiffett

December 12, 1936 ~ February 11, 2018 (age 81)

Manhattan - Keith McDiffett, 81, of Manhattan, Kansas, passed away February 11, 2018, at Enterprise Estates.

He was born December 12, 1936, in Alta Vista, Kansas, the son of William Paul and Christina (Freeman) McDiffett. 

Keith served in the United States Army during 1956 – 1957.  He was extremely honored to be a Veteran.  He attended all Veterans Day Parades and proudly wore his Korean or US Army caps. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.  He played baseball for “The Rinkydinks” in Alta Vista. 

 He was liked by everyone…..Keith was well known for his friendly personality….he always took time to say hello.  Keith had a huge heart and was willing to help or offer assistance to all.  He was a Green Bay Packers fan and loved to watch football on TV.  He loved his family and spending time with them was his favorite pastime.  One of his greatest joys was marrying the love of his life, Joyce Kraus on July 30, 1988 in Kansas City, MO.  They enjoyed watching their grandkids play ball, going for walks, and enjoying one another’s company.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Max and wife Doris, Stanley, Kent; sisters Marvene and husband Roy, Verlene and husband Virgil, Peggy and husband Bob; nephews, Michael, Todd, Bruce and Rick; and nieces, Phyllis Jean and Deanne.

Keith is survived by his loving wife Joyce, of the home; sons Patrick and wife Penina of Shawnee KS, Travis and wife Grace of Kwajalein, Republic of Marshall Islands, Corey Kraus and wife Christa, of Alta Vista, KS, Darin Kraus and wife Teresa, of Sioux City, IA; brother Ted and wife Edith, of Denair CA, sisters-in-law Phyllis, of Alta Vista and Nell, of Derby KS. Also surviving are his 9 grandchildren: Taylor, Bo, Cortney, Peter, Paul, Zachary, Chloe, Connor and Mikayla; 5 great grandchildren: Charlee, Kaleb, Kaedyn, Kolter and Isabella, and numerous friends.

A visitation will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, February 19, 2018, prior to the Memorial Service at 2:00, at Zeiner Funeral Home, 137 N. Union, Council Grove.
