Robert Peyton Bondurant, Jr.

August 6, 1933 ~ April 3, 2018 (age 84)

Dwight - Robert Peyton Bondurant, Jr., 84 of Dwight, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at Morris County Hospital.

He was born August 6, 1933 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the son of Robert P. and Mary Ellen (Jaudon) Bondurant, Sr.  He married Carol Ann Baxley in Basel, Switzerland on October 31, 1967.  They had two children, Robert Wayne and Edward Peyton.

Bob joined the US Army on October 23, 1953.  He retired as a Master Sergeant on August 1, 1978. 

Bob was known by his desire to make those around him smile with his funny one-liners.  It was a personal quest of his to always leave everyone a little happier after each visit.  His family was not exempt from his humor either; a constant prankster.  You just really never knew if you were a victim of his jokes or not.  See you later Bob.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son Edward Peyton Bondurant in 2010.

Bob is survived by is wife Carol, of the home; his son Robert W. Bondurant and wife Ana, of San Diego, California; and two grandchildren Robert M. and Kristina A. Bondurant, both of Abilene.

A visitation with family and friends will be held at the Zeiner Funeral Home on Monday, April 9th, from 5:00 – 7:00.

A private family inurnment will be held at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery in Fort Riley.
